The object
A cantilever holds the floor with nothing under it. Cantilever is the house at its most reduced: one slim patent vamp strap, one thin ankle strap, and a 120-millimeter needle of polished gunmetal. No platform. No second strap. No decoration on the leather. The foot is almost entirely visible; the shoe is a line. The circular A is engraved into the palladium buckle at the outer ankle — the only hardware that is allowed to be seen. Cut for a long leg and a short skirt. This is the one we chose when asked for the most of the form: less shoe, more architecture, nothing vulgar, everything exposed that the last requires.
