The object
A pier takes the load straight down. This is that idea, cut at the thigh: a low-rise black cutoff in 13.5-ounce sulphur-overdyed selvedge — the same pattern and clean hem as Footing, the same refusal to fray. The cloth starts dense and lightless. Wear opens it to charcoal along the thigh and seat. Hardware is matte gunmetal. At the back waistband, a smoked-calf badge holds the circular A in blind emboss. Worn low. Worn until the black gives way.
